The Avondale United 50th Anniversary Celebration Dinner on Saturday 8th October in Rochestown Park Hotel

We are just over 3 weeks away before we celebrate our 50th Anniversary in football when we host our Celebration evening at the Rochestown Park Hotel.


From very humble beginnings, Avondale Football has established itself as a valuable part of the football community respected throughout the country. Many people over the years have played their part in the Avondale history and on Saturday 8th October we will remember and honour just some of those people.  


It's great to see so much interest in this event and players from many decades looking forward to the celebrations. While it's great to look back in time and the wonderful memories made we are also grateful to all our newer members who are steering the club forward.   


Brendan McCarthy and the organisers have set up a night to remember.  Meanwhile our next podcast over the weekend features Brendan McCarthy who talks about the early Avondale days and the 1978 Intermediate Final Cup win and the very worrying time for Avondale's future  when the leading lights in Avondale formed Cork City.  It a great insight into our football club and will be released on Sunday evening.....
