Dear Avondale Parents, Guardians and Supporters
As we approach Christmas, we wanted to give you an update on our Beaumont Park Dressing Room project.
Last July, Avondale United received planning permission from Cork City Council to install new dressing rooms in Beaumont and following some unforeseen delays we are now working to get this development in place for September 2023.
Fortunately, we submitted an excellent proposal and have secured government grant funding of €95,000. Following further fundraising efforts this year including our exceptionally successful fun day in May we have raised a further €35,000 to progress this project. While the final costs are under review, the estimated cost is approximately €170,000. We hope to raise the majority of the remaining costs through fundraising over the next 10 months including our Christmas Draw and other initiatives in 2023.
We have ambitious plans, and we are excited to see this project move to completion. Avondale United remains committed to providing the very best facilities for our 640 young players under the age of 16. Our club is one of the biggest in Cork City, we have almost doubled our player numbers over the past 5 years. We need improved facilities for our players and improving the dressing rooms in Beaumont Park will go a long way toward this.
The plans include -
· Four Dressing Rooms
· Male and Female toilets
· A kitchenette with viewing area out on to the pitch
· An equipment storage area for goal posts and maintenance equipment
· Ground improvements surrounding the dressing room location.
All support for this project and all the club activities is appreciated. If there are any questions please contact any member of the committee.
