Two Special awards

At the recent Avondale United 50th Anniversary Celebration Dinner Two special awards in memory of the late Jim Hennebry and Chris Herlihy were awarded to long term volunteers

The Jim Hennebry volunteer award was made to Brian Forde who served Avondale in many areas but his care and attention to Beaumont Park was his pride and joy. The presentation was made by John Turner and Jim's wife Breda Hennebry and it was lovely to see the Hennebry family at the night.

The second presentation the Chris Herlihy volunteer award went to the Mullane family who still to this day do  emormous work for Avondale and Chris's daughters Sharon and Gretchen presented the award.

Both Chris and Jim set the standards for Avondale United and their names are synonymous with our club and they were fondly remembered by so many people on a great evening in the Rochestown Park Hotel.
