A dramatic game in Rockmount Park with lots of talking points as Rockmount gained the points following a 1-0 win.    4 penalties awarded to Rockmount in a clean but competitive match .   

On 42 mins the first  penalty was awarded for hand ball but Billy McCarthy saved from Danny Aherne. On 55 mins another penalty when Ian Mylod was fouled as he came in on goal and Luke Casey converted.  

On 68 mins another penalty awarded but this time Luke Casey  put it over the crossbar . On 73 mins sloppy play left Casey with a chance but his effort came back off the post. On 75 mins another penalty awarded to Rockmount but Billy McCarthy produced a great save from Ian Mylod .

 With Avondale pressing they had  claims for a penalty waved away and then on 82 mins David O'Leary found Matthew Mckevitt who weaved his way to the edge of the box but his shot came back off the crossbar with O'Connell beaten and that was it. .  

The Dale's will dust themselves down will pick points up quickly on this  performance
