Everton advanced to the next round of the Centenary Cup following a 2-1 win over Avondale after extra time in Everton Park on Sunday morning..... The opening goal came on 40 mins Will Allen received a long kick out from keeper Brendan Keating and Allen send a lovely ball into the path of Alan Greany who volleyed to the net..  


Avondale pressed hard for the equaliser and it came on 58 mins when David Shovlin cross wide on the right was whipped home by Richie Tobin. 


The winning goal came with minutes to go in extra time and the Dale's will be disappointed with how it came about when hesitancy to clear  allowed substitute Patrick Murphy to shoot from inside the area for the winning goal
